The state of the art ultra modern fully automatic computerized plant is the only one of its kind in Pakistan and is based on the utilization of local raw material, Lime Stone and hydrochloric Acid.

The plant is designed to produce 40,000 tons per annum of ultra fine grade of Calcium Chloride Prills of minimum 96% concentration. For obtaining the finest quality product, the best available raw material i.e. selected quality of indigenous Lime Stone of highest grade and membrane grade hydrochloric acid produced at ICL is used for the manufacturing process.

CCIL is the subsidiary of ICL which is ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System (QMS) and ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System (EMS) certified (accredited by PNAC & UKAS); the process of providing the two basic raw materials strictly conform to these international standards, which ultimately guarantee the finest quality of the end product, Calcium Chloride.

This pioneer plant being the only one of its kind in the capable of producing anhydrous CaCl2 in accordance with internationally accepted specifications both for technical as well as food grade applications.

The two raw material lime stone and hydrochloric acid are reacted in specially designed chemical reactors to manufacture Calcium Chloride liquor of 40% concentration. The solution thus produced is drained into typical lagoons (internally lined with corrosion resistant material) in order to settle down all suspended particles. The decanted liquid is then filtered in specially classified filtering equipment to obtain crystal clear solution, which is pre-concentrated to a certain degree/ viscosity which is now ready to be sent to the Prills tower.

In the Prills tower the pre-concentrated liquor is sprayed at the top which meets a counter current of hot gases which transforms the descending spray into beads / prills of a definite beautiful size with a minimum concentration of 96% as Calcium Chloride. The granular product is cooled and stored in silos ready for unit packaging.

It would be significant to note here that the plant and its operation are completely environment friendly and therefore it does not generated any kind of pollutant effluvia; rather its operation abates and control environmental pollution.
