Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate (SLES) is an anionic surfactant widely used in personal care products such as shampoos, toothpaste, body wash, cosmetics and hand wash. SLES is also used as a very effective and inexpensive foaming agent, especially in industrial applications.
